Thanks for your comments Lynn. It's still a struggle, but getting easier day by day. I'm thinking I'm in for a long journey on the positivity thing. But there are other great ideas and principles in Edwene Gaines' book that I'm trying as well. I plan to write an article and give a full report after 6 months.

I love it, I love it! I'm going to make this book a purchase must!
Don't we all need to open our minds and release the bad stuff that clouds our true self! I know I welcome the change. Even if I can take away one pointer in which I can incorporate into my true nature, I'd be so much happier with SELF #1. And maybe one less individual might walk past me unscathed from my ill thoughts!
Lori I love this blog you are so very interesting. What a person you have grown to be and offering so much to others through your own personal thoughts is very nice and refreshing, plus a good read to say the very least.
Well done!

It's proving to be a great challenge...especially the sarcasm part. I have a very witty family that has perfected the art of sarcasm. They are especially keeping me on my toes with this challenge.

Thanks for visiting and commenting. Nice to have you stop by.

Wow, that sounds like quite the challenge (especially removing sarcasm!). I wish you the best of luck.

Jay - Thanks for the encouragement (and the reality check). I'm realizing, day by day, that this is going to be a long-term (maybe lifetime) project. But that's okay. I plan to be in it for the long haul.

I love the new mantra! I try to say something similar to myself whenever I am out and about, and especially when meeting new people for the first time. Mine goes more along the lines of:

"I will be completely present with this person, listening to them, and paying attention to them. I will do what I can to bring peace and happiness to them while I am with them."

It's a high expectation of myself, and one that I don't always live up to, but at least it gets me pointed in the right direction.

The "turn-around" time that you mentioned will continue to get shorter, and then (one fine, magical day) you'll manage to catch yourself once before the negativity slips out. And then you'll mess up a few more times, but then it'll happen again, and then again. Pretty soon you'll catch yourself every time.

At least that's what I've been told :) As for myself, I manage to catch myself about 80% of the time...after a year of working on it.
